OOOhh... Junk art is cool -and this looks spooky and deserted

Heya Poosie,
Wonderin if anybody comes here anymore. Looks like a long time since a post....

I'm really into our local *reuse* place. Always an adventure. The reuse place is like a box of chocolates, ya never know whacher gonna find....

Lately I'm especially into those brass and faceted clear glass lamp thingys. (OK, ya don't know what I mean, so what?) They are cool and cheap and I have a collection of about a dozen now. I just collect cheap stuff that I think is cool, and every once in a while some of it just *goes together* kind of on it's own, and it is always hugely satisfying....

I just wish I had more room to store junk is all....

Ol' Bill

Like the subject asks, what do you like to do with your junk? Paint it, glue it, collage it, weld it, hammer it, etc?

I like to paint on my junk, but I also like to decopage' on some stuff as well. Damn I need to learn to weld.....

I have started earlier this year. It began last year in the spring time when a friend and I walked the river and noticed the river had left us piles of river worn trash every where. We quickly got distracted in creating sculptures on the river bank for the next four hours. Then people came and took pictures and ran off as if we would have protested. This year I am building structures out of these huge slabs of concrete strewn about the steeper banks of the river as a retention wall of cheapness, cutting terraces, making stairs, art from litter left in the same spot as I found it, and painting it inevitably with moss. never underestimate the power of the leaver, the danger of broken glass in the dirt, or the resistance of common folk to the desire to find beauty in our waste creations. This is my new graffitti. The town I live in Is a heap of post-industrial crumblings and has many bridges with invisible undersides. South Bend Indiana...yep.

I uploaded pics of some of the AOL tins that I painted up.

I'll try to remember to take some pictures of the desk and chairs that I found during a dumpster diving session last year and put them up in here. I will have the before (what they look like right now) and then the after (whenever that will be) up when I've actually finished them off.

Hopefully soon than later on all that.

So, share your projects or things that you would like to see done with stuff that you would normally throw out or have found in the trash!
