Heya Poosie,
Wonderin if anybody comes here anymore. Looks like a long time since a post....
I'm really into our local *reuse* place. Always an adventure. The reuse place is like a box of chocolates, ya never know whacher gonna find....
Lately I'm especially into those brass and faceted clear glass lamp thingys. (OK, ya don't know what I mean, so what?) They are cool and cheap and I have a collection of about a dozen now. I just collect cheap stuff that I think is cool, and every once in a while some of it just *goes together* kind of on it's own, and it is always hugely satisfying....
I just wish I had more room to store junk is all....
Ol' Bill

Re: OOOhh... Junk art is cool -and this looks spooky and deserted
Sun, July 20, 2008 - 6:25 PMI know what you mean about when it just goes together.
I love rusty metal pieces and I think the best place to find them is the parking lot of Home Depot/Lowes (or someplace like it where the contractors etc go). This week I found half of a rusty hinge and I can't wait til I get the time to do some "ART"!
Please post a pic of your 'brass and faceted clear glass lamp thingys" cuz I don't know what you mean.

Tue, August 12, 2008 - 5:53 AMSalvage oak shipping timbers! If you know where a steel building is being erected you might find very large pieces of oak used to ship the steel framing in the dumpsters. It makes great effigies for burning, or construction timbers for furniture interior design, or graffiti etc.
